Alcoholic says please dont help me

P.S. Notice AZ Central headlines about Pima drunk drivers on blog list. Well, some people think alcoholics who drive drunk should be helped right to jail, and what is more pay for their board and room in the slammer.

Hi Gerry, Thanks for leaving your comment over on my blog Diary of A Mad Woman. My Facebook name is Barbara Whisman Miller. I don't think it was the heat that got to me while we are on vacation. I think it's my pancreas acting up again. I nearly died last Nov. from double pneumonia and a bleeding pancreas. I lost 3 pints of blood. I have got to call the Dr soon. Can't afford another one of THOSE 2 week vacations!!! That 2 week hospital stay was just shy of $160,000.oo! Thank the good lord we have VERY VERY good health insurance. It's why my husbamd can't retire yet!!
That Doc is quite the character. Having an alcoholic father I can relate. Take good care and stay out of that heat (I hope it's cooling off some.)

You know Gerry, I don't know Doc and I don't know how inebriated he was in that video, but you tell that man he still has a LOT going for him and that he is DAMNED lucky to even have you as a friend if not more. I can tell he is an intelligent, nice looking man, with a wonderful sense of humor and if he stops drinking NOW he can have many more years of happiness and fun and REMEMBER IT!! Have you heard about a book/program called The Cure. It is not a 12 Step program and does follow the mentality that alcoholism/addication is a disease. I hear it is a wonderful book. I have only seen it advertised on TV and not paid much attention to it really. It might be something you could find at a lesser price on Ebay or half.com or Amazon.com.
I am so sorry to hear about your friend who was evicted. I hope he can find his sobriety again. Hugs and prayers for you all. Barb

What I know is that I have faults I don't want to be helped out of or preached to about, either. They may not be the same(they aren't) & they may not be as intense or as life-shattering, but still, I don't think I really want to be helped out of some of them. I can't say I totally agree with Doc, but then, it is his life to live.

Drunk driving, different issue to me, totally.
